Federal deputy Lucas Abrahão (Rede-AP) launched a website to receive proposals and debate the allocation of resources from .
The parliamentarian is the rapporteur of the bill that creates this fund, and is currently on the Mines and Energy Committee.
The proposal was supported by the Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT) government, which defends the idea of using resources to finance renewable energy sources.
According to the original text, authored by deputy Rubens Pereira Jr. (PT), the funds from Foz exploration royalties would be distributed to protect the environment and the energy transition, health, education and artificial intelligence.
Abrahão intends for the website to function as a form of public consultation, to collect suggestions and debate what changes should be made to the proposal.
The initiative was named Margem Para o Ajante, in reference to the Equatorial Margin, the region on the Brazilian coast where Foz is located.
The idea has the support of entities such as CNI (National Confederation of Industry), Cufa (Central Única das Favelas) and Todos pela Educação, among others. The governments of the six states that make up the project also participate in the project.
“I’m going to invite entities to participate and I want to make a move to listen to society”, says the deputy.
