Flávio Bolsonaro meets businesspeople in São Paulo – 12/17/2025 – Power

The senator (-RJ) met for the second time with businesspeople from São Paulo this Wednesday (17), seeking support for his candidacy for President, and said that he was “the moderate Bolsonaro”, with a chance of winning.

“It was another conversation to show that, with each passing day, there is a stronger, more viable candidacy and that it will be victorious. To calm everyone here in relation to this fan base of some wanting to cause animosity between Bolsonaro, Tarcísio and other parties such as União Brasil, Progressistas, PSD and Republicans”, said the senator after the meeting.

“They have always asked for a more moderate Bolsonaro and I have always been like this, I am this more moderate, balanced, centered Bolsonaro, and I hope that this also reflects on the population’s confidence that we will present the best project for Brazil.”

“I’m from politics, I know how the game of power works in Brasília. So, here, it was another very positive conversation, with opinion makers, with the people who move this country forward, who generate jobs”, he continued.

“We talked a little more about public security. I was very clear with them here that I will be radical, yes, on the public security agenda and I will have the best people by my side in the economic field, who will have the autonomy to do what needs to be done to modernize our country”, he continued.

The lunch was at the home of businessman Gabriel Rocha Kanner, nephew of businessman Flávio Rocha, owner of Riachuelo, in Jardins, south of the capital. The meeting was scheduled for 12pm, but Flávio arrived at around 3:10pm, coming from Brasília, and was awaited by around 40 businesspeople — some of them left before he arrived, due to the delay.

Businessman Marcelo Abrão, who spoke to journalists on his way out, said that the senator said he was “the Bolsonaro that everyone wants”, highlighting that Flávio would have a less aggressive profile than his father.

Another person present who spoke to journalists on the way out, Samir Astassie, stated that the senator sought to make it clear that his candidacy is for real.

Last week, after announcing his pre-candidacy, Flávio met with businesspeople from São Paulo and investors from Faria Lima at a lunch at the Swiss investment bank UBS. The market reacted badly to the indication.
