Forget about meatballs in tomato sauce. Make these today, they are even better

My family really likes meatballs, but I was tired of the tomato sauce version. So I decided to try something different, and this is how – through trial and error – this recipe was created meatballs in cheese sauce. I admit that this is my favorite dinner.

Ingredients for the meatballs:

  • 600 g of minced beef and pork,
  • 1 stale wheat roll,
  • milk (to soak the roll),
  • 1 onion,
  • 1 egg,
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley,
  • salt, pepper (to taste),
  • vegetable oil (for frying).

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 150 ml whipping cream (30%),
  • 1 clove of garlic,
  • 30 g of yellow cheese,
  • 20 g sera gorgonzola,
  • pepper (to taste),
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley (for decoration).

Pour milk over the broken roll and set aside to soak.

Peel the onion, cut into cubes and fry in a small amount of oil. Combine the minced meat with the excess milk and onion in a bowl. Add egg and parsley. Mix the ingredients with your hands into a uniform mass. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

With water-moistened hands, form small meatballs from the meat mass. Fry them in oil (2-3 minutes on each side). Pour the heavy cream into the pan. Add a clove of garlic pressed through the press. Stew the meatballs in the cream over low heat (covered) for about 10 minutes.

Add grated cheese and crushed gorgonzola to the cream. Mix and simmer the meatballs for another few minutes, stirring the sauce from time to time – until the cheese is completely dissolved in the cream. Season with pepper.

Serve ready-made meatballs in cheese sauce sprinkled with chopped parsley. They taste great with potato purée and carrot salad.
