Pornhub, which claims to have more than 100 million daily visits and 36,000 million visits per year, is one of the most popular providers of sexual content in the world. The group ‘ShinyHunters’ has already claimed the attack.
Hacker group ‘ShinyHunters’ claimed on Tuesday to have stolen data belonging to premium customers of leading sexual content website Pornhub and is now threatening to make it public if the platform does not pay a ransom.
The group, however, has already shared data from 14 users of the porn site’s premium service.
At least three former Pornhub customers who were affected – two men in Canada and one man in the United States – confirmed to Reuters that the stolen data was authentic, although it was several years old.
“We are demanding the payment of a ransom in Bitcoin to stop the publication of the data and delete it,” ShinyHunters told Reuters in an online chat.
The group refused, however, to clarify how it managed to access the information.
The news of the database breach was reported by the cybersecurity news website .
