Inflation at 4.0 percent: High inflation is making losses in prosperity noticeable in Austria

The high inflation in Austria did not subside in November either. Rather, Statistics Austria calculated it to be 4.0 percent, which is the same value as in October. This was primarily due to further price increases for energy and food, although services also once again contributed heavily to the high inflation. Prices in the catering industry have risen by more than six percent since the same month last year. “In addition, price increases increased significantly in November, especially for fuel,” explains Statistics Austria General Director Manuela Lenk.
