A 40 year old womanwhose identity was not disclosed, was arrested by PCMG (Civil Police of Minas Gerais), during Operation Black Pen this Tuesday (16), in Montes Claros, northern region of Minas Gerais.
The action, focusing on the (National Health Surveillance Agency), resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of nine ampoules of prohibited medicines.
Agents executed four search warrants. That of unauthorized medicines. At the scene, the police seized, in addition to the illegal products, cell phones that will be subjected to forensic examination and should contribute to the advancement of investigations and identification of others involved.
“The irregular sale of these medicines can cause serious damage to health, especially when used without medical prescription and sanitary control”, declared delegate Cézar Salgueiro, responsible for the case, the practice represents a direct risk to public health.
The suspect was charged with the crime provided for in article 273, §1-B, item I, of the Penal Code. The investigations remain ongoing.
About the medicine So-called slimming pens, such as GLP-1 agonist medicines, are of controlled use and indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity, requiring prescription and medical monitoring. Import and commercialization without registration with Anvisa are prohibited.
