Preventive investigation into Spinumviva archived

There was “no news of the commission of a criminal offense”, explains the Public Ministry.

The preventive investigation into Spinumvivaa company owned by the family of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, was archived on Tuesday, the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) announced this Wednesday.

In a published on the website of the Central Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DCIAP), the Public Prosecutor’s Office justifies the archiving with the fact that there was no “news of the commission of a criminal offense”.

According to the statement, the investigation initially focused on payments to Spinumviva that would not be owed to society, including when Luís Montenegro was already prime minister, and was later extended to purchase of two properties in Lisbon by the family of the head of Government.

At issue were “suspicions of the danger of committing the crime of receiving or offering an undue advantage”, which were not confirmed by the analysis of the elements provided by various entities.

The preventive investigation had been on March 12, 2025.
