Another European rocket will soon be taking off: On Wednesday (December 17th), an Ariane 6 rocket is scheduled to take off from the European spaceport in Kourou in French Guiana in the early hours of the morning Central European time. It transports the Galileo satellites numbers 33 and 34 into space, thereby expanding the European navigation system. This is the first time that the new Ariane 6 launch vehicle has carried a positioning system satellite and the system’s highest transport to date. Austrian technology is on board.
