Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) presented himself to businesspeople from São Paulo as a “soft Bolsonaro”. In the capital of São Paulo, this Wednesday (17), he spoke to the guests and then opened the conversation for questions.
According to interlocutors, Flávio stated that he is “the Bolsonaro that everyone wants”. And he sold the image of someone “softer” than his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, more open to dialogue – which would make him win over a more divided voter.
Around 50 businesspeople were invited to the event, scheduled for 12pm. At the time Flávio showed up, around 3:10 pm, 30 were still at the scene.
To the audience of São Paulo’s business community, Flávio Bolsonaro also spoke about the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans). More than once, he reinforced that they are both friends and that there is no noise in the relationship.
Regarding the possible favoritism of the business community and Faria Lima for Tarcísio, those present at the lunch said they left the conversation with Flavio excited. The understanding is that Tarcísio may be necessary to keep the right in power in the State, not giving space to other candidates – such as Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) or Fernando Haddad (PT), for example.
The meeting took place at the home of Gabriel Rocha Kanner, nephew of Flávio Rocha, owner of Riachuelo, in Jardim Europa, an upscale neighborhood in the city of São Paulo. The senator was late after participating in the vote on the Dosimetry PL at the Senate CCJ, in Brasília.
