The (Supreme Federal Court) sentenced Aildo Francisco Lima to 14 years in prison, who made a live broadcast sitting in the minister’s chair during the undemocratic acts of January 8th.
Lima was convicted of five crimes: violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, attempted coup d’état, qualified damage, deterioration of listed property and armed criminal association.
The condemned man sat in Moraes’ chair and said: “Hey, guys, this is Xandão’s chair. Damn, now I’m a minister of the Court. Come on, c*ck.” Lima’s defense questioned the authenticity of the video, claiming that the file does not correspond to the original version posted by him.
However, in a statement to , Lima denied having posted the video on his social networks, but acknowledged the authorship of the material. On September 27, 2023, he was preventively arrested by the PF in Campo Limpo Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo.
The arrest was unanimously maintained by the First Panel of the STF in June 2024. In April, Moraes granted him house arrest. The minister determined precautionary measures, such as the use of electronic ankle bracelets, the prohibition of using social networks, communicating with others involved in the 8th of January, granting interviews and receiving visits, except from lawyers and family members.
