More electric cars are being sold in the EU than ever before. The commission is canceling the end of combustion engines planned for 2035 and is deciding to relax the restrictions. Manufacturers’ fleets now only have to be 90 percent CO2-free. The industry still has “a steep path” ahead of it, said Günther Kerle from the automotive importers working group on Tuesday in the ZiB2. “But maybe a little door has been opened.”
