Singer Zezé Di Camargo issued a note this Tuesday (16) apologizing for a video in which he criticized SBT and the Abravanel family, owners of the station, for hosting President Lula and STF minister Alexandre de Moraes at the SBT News presentation ceremony.
In the official note, Zezé stated that he had no intention of disrespecting the women of the Abravanel family or any other woman by saying that the broadcaster was “prostituting herself”.
“I clarify that I used the expression ‘prostituting’ in a figurative sense. Despite this, the expression was misinterpreted. At no time was there any intention to disrespect the women of the Abravanel family or any woman. Apologies”, he declared.

According to Folha de S.Paulo, in addition to the cancellation of the singer’s end-of-year special on SBT, Zezé Di Camargo was banned from participating in the network’s programs for an indefinite period.
The broadcaster was also considering charging the singer for financial losses resulting from the cancellation, as two sponsors had acquired commercial shares for the special.

In the early hours of last Monday, Zezé Di Camargo published a video on Instagram in which he asked for the cancellation of the special by SBT for disagreeing with the presence of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) at the inauguration of the SBT Newslast Friday, the 12th.
The Christmas special with Zezé has already been recorded and featured other artists. Still, the country singer said he preferred the broadcaster to reconsider the exhibition. “If you could do me a favor: take my special off the air. I don’t want to be part of this,” he said.
In response to the video, Daniela Abravanel Beyruti. Without mentioning the singer’s name, the broadcaster stated that the release of the SBT News is aligned with a reliable, plural and non-partisan journalism project.
