O Geely EX5 received an interesting technology for the Chinese market. One prototype model of the car received one steering unit that allows it to drive in “crab mode”.
In a video shared by , four drive units have been integrated directly into the wheels.
As a result, the architecture has the capacity to independent steering 90 degrees for all four wheels.
Because of this, the prototype can park in narrow spaces and exit them. The wheels on the front and rear axles of the EV can rotate and steer in independent directions.
The car that can move sideways and makes maneuvering easier is already sold in Brazil, but without this technology on the wheels.
