We continue back and forth with Jeffrey Epsteinin this case with a new batch of photographs released by the Democratic Party of the United States, all of this just a few hours before the legal deadline given to the Department of Justice expires to publish what he keeps about the case of the millionaire pedophile.
The images, some 70 photographs extracted from a fund of 95,000 documentscome from Epstein’s heirs and have been obtained by the House Oversight Committee.
But more than the what, there is the who, with two more names, or rather, another, since among these snapshots there are some where it appears the philosopher and reference of the left, Noam Chomsky, apart from other figures such as the filmmaker Woody Allen, the ultraconservative strategist Steve Bannon or the philanthropist Bill Gatesthe latter accompanied by a woman whose face has been censored.
Also included are portraits already known as the co-founder of Google, Sergey Brin or the essayist and columnist of The New York TimesDavid Brooks.
No evidence of crimes or new names
The Committee itself emphasizes that appearing in Epstein’s documents does not imply having committed any crimenor having participated in the network of sexual abuse of minors for which he was investigated. There are also no surprises in the names that appear in this new batch: all of them had already been publicly linked to the financier’s social environment.
Let us remember that Epstein died in 2019 in a maximum security cell in Manhattanin a case that generated countless conspiracy theories. However, the coroner officially certified it as a suicide.
The photographs released this Thursday they arrive without additional context. Along with the personal portraits, there are images of his private island in the Caribbean, known among locals as the island of pedophiles, as well as disturbing photographs of a bed without sheets, a bottle of medication for urinary infections and several passports.
Censored documents and disturbing messages
Among the graphic documents passports and identity documents from different countries appear. One is clearly American and belongs to Epstein. Others, from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Morocco or Lithuania, have most of the information blacked out.
Screenshots of a text conversation have also been published in which explicitly talks about “sending girls”. One of the messages reads: “I have a friend who is a headhunter, she sent me some girls today. But she is asking for $1,000 each. I’ll send you girls now. Maybe some will be good for J?”
This new batch is added to the one published last Friday, when The Oversight Committee released 19 images in which Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Steve Bannon, Woody Allen and Bill Gates appeared, among others..
As now, none of those photographs demonstrated illicit activity, but they did offer a more detailed view of Epstein’s lifestyle and social relationships.
