BRUSSELS, Dec 18 (Reuters) – France is not ready to sign an EU trade deal with Mercosur, French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated ahead of an EU summit in Brussels on Thursday, adding that more work needed to be done on reciprocity and product controls.
‘We believe that the numbers do not add up and that this agreement cannot be signed (…) it is about the consistency of Europe and a Europe that protects its agriculture and its producers,’ Macron told reporters.
