Islamic State praised the Bondi Beach attack. Incites attacks in Belgium

The Islamic State jihadist organization celebrated the attack on Sydney’s Bondi Beach, although it has not officially claimed responsibility, according to media reports. Australian authorities are investigating whether the perpetrators had ties to this extremist group.

On Thursday, the Islamic State (IS) jihadist organization reportedly claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. However, she did not take responsibility for him, TASR writes, according to a report by the DPA agency.

An online newsletter linked to Islamic State hailed the attack as the “pride of Sydney” and the attackers as a “unique duo”. According to the DPA agency, the authors could thus indicate that they were followers of this radical group. Australian authorities are currently investigating a possible link with IS.

“Although the Islamic State has not yet had the opportunity to engage in (direct) combat with Jews, its soldiers, delegations and supporters have not stopped in their attempts to attack Jews everywhere,” the newsletter said. “Jews are bleeding in the streets of Australia today after (fanatics) responded to the call and followed advice to target religious holidays and gatherings,” the newsletter continued.

The jihadist group then called on its followers in Belgium to carry out similar attacks on Jews and Christians during the Christmas holidays.

Sajid Akram and his 24-year-old son Naveed opened fire with rifles on people celebrating the Jewish Holiday of Lights (Chanukah) at Bondi Beach on Sunday, killing 15 of them. Sajid Akram was shot by the police during the intervention, his son was seriously injured.
