A report prepared by experts from the National Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Police confirmed this Wednesday (17) that former president Jair Bolsonaro tried to violate the electronic ankle monitor during the period he was under house arrest.
On November 22, Bolsonaro was arrested after confessing that he used a soldering iron to try to break the equipment.
Experts confirmed that there are signs of tampering with the equipment, which showed significant damage to the plastic cover of the ankle bracelet.

“Tests carried out with a soldering iron on the surface of the material in question showed aspects compatible with the damage observed. No additional tests were carried out with other types of tools”, says the report.
The experts also cited that the attempted rape occurred without “technical precision”.
“It is noteworthy that the damage to the material in question presents characteristics of rough execution, which suggests that the tool was used without technical precision”, added the professionals.
The report was sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case.
Bolsonaro is imprisoned in a room at the Federal Police (PF) Superintendence, in Brasília, where he is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months in prison for his conviction in the criminal case for the coup plot.
