Leader of the Chamber, (RJ) denies that there is a reduction in sentences that benefit the former president (PL), after the senators articulated a change to restrict the scope of the proposal, but without returning the measure to the deputies.
The project was approved by the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission) by 17 votes to 7. It now goes to the plenary for deliberation.
Behind the scenes, information is circulating that the government had participated in an agreement with the opposition to approve dosimetry. “There is no agreement. President Lula is radically against dosimetry. He will have to veto it”, he states. “I’m calling everyone, all senators to go to the plenary like lions against this deal. That this is the government’s position, that is, there is no agreement on this.”
According to Lindbergh, the ministers (Institutional Relations) and (General Secretariat) will go to the Senate plenary to argue against the text.
The main controversy in the CCJ was the approval of an amendment that, according to the senators, would not change the merits of the project. With this, the text would go on to be sanctioned or vetoed by President Lula, without having to return to the Chamber. The understanding of the PT leader in the Chamber is that the change alters the meaning of the proposal and, therefore, should be submitted again to the deputies for consideration.
