In yet another move in the delivery market chess, Rappy and Picpay announced this Wednesday a partnership where users will be able to place delivery orders directly on the fintech app.
According to the companies, the new “Picpay Delivery” section will function as a “mirror” of Rappi, allowing orders to be placed without the need to be a user of both applications. In other words, the entire purchasing journey — from choosing the item to paying and tracking the order — takes place entirely within PicPay.
For now, items available on Rappi Turbo will be released for the new modality, which delivers in up to 10 minutes, to all cities in which the service operates. There is also a selection of restaurants in the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Recife.
“We combined our technology and last-mile operations to 64 million PicPay users, to offer a unified, simple and powerful experience. It is an initiative that reinforces our commitment to innovation, convenience and access to essential services, as well as contributing to the geographic expansion of the platform together with PicPay”, said Felipe Criniti, CEO of Rappi in Brazil, in a statement.
For PicPay, the integration reinforces the strategy of expanding services within the application, according to the fintech’s executive vice president of Audiences and Ecosystem, Alexandre Moshe.
