Spending a few days away between Christmas and New Year continues to be an option considered by those looking to break up their routine without resorting to long or expensive trips. In Albufeira, in the Algarve, a four-star hotel offers prices from 77 euros per night, positioning itself as an alternative for a short break that combines urban accommodation with proximity to the sea.
According to the Hotel Indigo Albufeira by IHG website, the unit is located on Rua Joaquim Pedro Samora, approximately 100 meters from the city center, allowing walking to the historic and commercial area. If you choose to book your stay for the night of December 26th to 27th, be aware that prices for a standard room start at 77 euros for two people. The stay does not include breakfast.
The hotel offers a range of amenities designed for use throughout the year, regardless of the season. Among the services available are spa and wellness packages, outdoor pool, restaurant, bar, terrace and deck solaras well as free internet access in all areas.
The website writes that the rooms are equipped with air conditioning, sound insulation and streaming services, such as Netflix, in addition to free toiletries. Some types include a balcony and the unit also has a 24-hour reception, room service, elevator and non-smoking rooms.
The hotel’s location is reinforced by its proximity to Praia dos Pescadores, one of the best-known points on Albufeira’s seafront. According to the Albufeira municipality website, this is an urban beach of intensive use, integrated into a consolidated urban core and subject to high demand, especially during the summer months.
The same source states that the beach is made up of golden sand and is located to the east of Praia do Peneco, in an area where the cliff stops. At one end it is delimited by the boarding pier, and there is a frequent presence of artisanal fishing vessels along the beach.
The name Praia dos Pescadores originates from the strong historical connection to fishing activity. For decades, this area was home to numerous artisanal fishing boats, which used the sand as a support point for their daily activities.
According to the same source, with the creation of the modern Porto de Abrigo, these vessels moved to new infrastructures, whilst maintaining the symbolic and visual connection to traditional fishing. Access to the beach can be done by road or on foot, from the central area of the city.
A stay designed for outside the high season
The hotel’s proximity to the beach allows you to combine an urban stay with moments of leisure by the sea. The hotel also provides umbrellas and beach chairs, facilitating access to the bathing space without the need for additional travel.
It should be noted that the unit also focuses on demand outside of the high season, including the period between Christmas and New Year, when the city maintains active services, but with less tourist traffic. This combination allows for a smoother experience, without giving up the available offer.
