The demanding EU summit in Brussels is also about negotiations on the security and financing of Ukraine.
The government special of the Aviation Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, which on Wednesday brought the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to the summit of the European Union with the Western Balkans and the meeting of the European Council, had an accident at the airport in Brussels. The Prime Minister announced that the vehicle with the stairs had broken the plane so that it was unflyable.
“The demanding summit in Brussels did not start well. At the airport, a car with stairs smashed our plane so that it is unflyable and we have to leave it here,” said Fico.
On Wednesday evening, the Prime Minister took part in the summit of the leaders of the European Council and the states of the Western Balkans. On Thursday (18/12) morning, Robert Fico plans to attend a meeting of the informal group dedicated to industry and competitiveness, after which the European Union summit itself will begin.
The presidents and prime ministers of the EU member states will discuss the financing of Ukraine, the security of Europe, the expansion of the bloc and the long-term budget of the Union for the years 2028 to 2034. The discussions will also cover the situation in the Middle East, migration and competitiveness.
The Prime Minister should return to Slovakia on Friday, December 19 at the latest.
