Three people, including two crew members of a cargo ship, died in Ukrainian drone attacks against the Russian port of Rostov-on-Don and the city of Bataysk, in the southern Rostov region, acting governor Yuri Slyusar said on Thursday (18).
The fire was contained, Slyusar said on his channel on the Telegram messaging app.
The head of Rostov-on-Don, Alexander Skryabin, had previously said that a leak of petroleum products had been prevented.
Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of attacks on civilian vessels. The , threatened to “isolate Ukraine from the sea” after Kiev’s attacks damaged three “parallel fleet” tankers heading to Russia to export oil earlier this month.
One person died and seven were injured in the city of Bataysk, where two private houses caught fire as a result of a drone strike, Slyusar added.
