Attacks by the Black Sea
In recent weeks, Kiev has announced naval drone attacks on Russian tankers in the Black Sea and attacks on Russian ports. Moscow responded by regularly bombing the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, hitting transport ships, including Turkish ones. Ankara warned last week that the attacks in the Black Sea represented a “worrying escalation”.
Diplomatic efforts to end the conflict have accelerated in recent weeks after the publication of the US peace plan, but have not yet led to a ceasefire, AFP reminds.
