In the 38th minute of the second half, Memphis was called to leave the field and make way for Dieguinho. The player greeted his teammate, but left making gestures with his arms and complaining about the decision. When sitting on the bench, the player seemed upset.
On a night of little inspiration from the São Paulo team’s attack, the player participated in the first half in a disallowed goal. At 25, Memphis completed the goal, after a deflection by Yuri Alberto inside the area, but the goal was subsequently disallowed due to the Dutchman being offside.
A goalless draw in São Paulo does not give any team an advantage in Rio de Janeiro. The teams face each other next Sunday, at 6pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã.
