Former presenter Dag Palovič (50) is currently engaged in coaching, mentoring and writing books. During the approaching holiday season, he craved together with friends after the Christmas atmosphere and went to the markets in nearby Vienna. It was there that a terrifying incident took place, which he talked about in an interview for the newspaper.
None of them had any idea that the situation would change so dramatically and they would have to call the rescuers. “We wanted to go and see the beautiful atmosphere of the Christmas markets in Vienna, whether there would be more considerate people there than in Slovakia. As we walked through the markets, one friend from the group held my hand, but about 7 people pushed me in the space of 10 minutes and suddenly someone pushed me, at that moment someone from the other side bumped into my friend and I only remember being caught and hitting my head on the ground,” clarified a moment he will never forget.
His friends immediately called 911 and paramedics rushed him to the hospital. “I’ve got a cut on my head, a concussion and I’m still waiting for a CT scan, the third in six weeks,” described the serious injuries he sustained. He also published a picture from the hospital bed, where his head is bandaged. PHOTO can be found in the gallery.
According to his words, Palovič should have been unpleasantly surprised by the behavior of the local doctors, with whom he should have tried to joke and make the situation a little lighter. “It all happened very quickly. The doctors asked me how much I drank and I said nothing. I haven’t drunk hard liquor for 19 years and wine for 2 years. They asked me if I needed it and I said that I expected more considerate people to be here. They told me that I thought very wrong,” he recounted their conversation, which left him with unpleasant feelings.
Even on the second day after the injury, he felt weak. “I woke up sore with watery eyes from the pain, but I’m fine as far as possible. My first meeting is in Nitra in the afternoon and then I’m going to pick stitches from the injury 2 weeks ago and check,” he clarified, as it wasn’t that long ago that he had accidentally cracked the top of his head.
Palovič was involved in a serious traffic accident two years ago in August between Šahá and Preseľany nad Ipľom in the district of Levice. According to available information, 28 years old the driver of the Opel Astra did not keep a safe distance and crashed into his Yamaha motorcycle, which he was riding in front of him.
The strong impact threw him onto the windshield of the car and then he fell onto the road in front of the vehicle. With serious injuries, he was taken by helicopter to the Faculty Hospital in Nitra, where he was treated by doctors they put him into artificial sleep and immediately had to amputate his leg.
