“How to have a more balanced dinner without overindulging?”
A DECO INFORMS…
Christmas is a time of celebration and tradition marked by family time, around a table full of food. This Christmas, don’t feel bad if you commit some excesses, they are part of this special time. But this doesn’t mean we can eat as much as we want! We must take care to maintain a balanced and guilt-free dinner.
On Christmas Eve, it is important to respect the usual meal plan, to avoid overeating at dinner. This way our appetite will be similar to any other day.
We must start by planning our meals in good time, creating a shopping list that is suitable for the number of guests, thus also avoiding food waste.
Meals should start with soup, which will help us stay full for longer and then move on to the main course, half of which should be made up of vegetables, which we can include in the recipe or accompany as a salad.
Once the meal is over, and the time has come to “attack” the dessert table, we can start with fruit, which will be a good strategy to reduce the amount of sweets to be eaten and then, on a dessert plate, we place a little of each sweet, trying not to repeat the doses.
It is also important to moderate the consumption of alcoholic beverages, as this will reduce the risk of reflux and heartburn so associated with this festive season.
Once the festive period is over, we must return to our routine, resuming our usual meal plan and physical exercise, especially because the “problem” is not always in what we eat at Christmas or New Year’s Eve, but rather in the days between the two festive events.
