Os k-dramas remain firm as one of the biggest phenomena in global entertainment in 2025. Whether on streaming or social media, productions continue to generate fans, memes, ships and, of course, millions of searches on Google.
The most sought-after title of the year is already known: and, despite leading global searches, it left part of the public frustrated with the series’ outcome. Even so, the success was undeniable.
To better understand this movement, we compared three K-dramas released at different times in 2025: “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” and “Explosive Kiss”all from Netflix.
A CNN Brazil analyzed public interest in two periods: last 90 days and also throughout 12 monthsbased on data from Google Trends.
In the last 90 days, if we look at the now, the scenario changes and “Beijo Explosivo” reigns supreme. The drama dominates the chart with high and constant peaks, driven by viral scenes on TikTok, edits on Instagram and many online discussions, as the final episode will be released on December 25th.
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” appears in a more discreet way, supported by viewers who discovered the plot after the end or returned to discuss its most memorable moments.
Meanwhile, “If Life Gives You Tangerinas” remains firm, even without explosions. The steady interest means the series has earned a permanent place among 2025’s most-remembered dramas.
In the annual analysis, it is clear that each production had its own high point., starring, was the main highlight of the beginning of the year. The drama registered a significant spike in the first few months and, even after the hype ended, it maintained constant searches.
The culinary K-drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” concentrated its impact in the second half, which was reflected in well-defined peaks while the series was on air and a natural drop after the end.
The one that arrived last, but arrived with strength, was “Beijo Explosivo”, the romantic comedy soared in searches in the final months of 2025, reaching the highest rates among the three titles.

In addition to the three analyzed, other titles helped define the year, such as: in Brazil; “Weak Hero Class 2”, which drew attention for its intensity and outstanding performances; and “Round 6”, even with a controversial ending, remained unbeatable when it comes to the public’s search and curiosity.
In the end, the data shows that the clash was won by “Se a Vida Te Der Tangerinas”, which continues to be sought after by new viewers through late recommendations and lists of “must see of the year”.
“Beijo Explosivo” established itself as a viral phenomenon due to the chemistry of the main couple, presenting a romance that deviates from conventional standards.
