The operation was coordinated by the Specialized Center for Criminal Investigations (Neic) and had logistical support from the Acre Military Fire Department, due to the difficulties in accessing the region, which has sections that are difficult to navigate. Joint action allowed the safe movement of police teams to the location.

During the siege, the suspect was located and approached without offering resistance. At the time of his arrest, the police found a restricted firearm, ammunition and narcotics in his possession. In addition to the court warrant for murder, the man was also charged with the crimes of illegal possession of a restricted weapon and drug trafficking.

According to delegate Heverton Carvalho, the action demonstrates the Civil Police’s commitment to operating even in regions that are difficult to access. “Our Neic investigation team had been monitoring the steps of this national, who is identified as the author of a crime of homicide in the community. With the support of the Fire Department, we were successful in removing him from circulation, along with a restricted-use weapon, which certainly prevents new crimes in the region”, he stated.

The prisoner was taken to the Cruzeiro do Sul police station and remains at the disposal of the courts.
