This Friday (19/12), the Federal Police (PF) seized around R$430,000 at an address linked to federal deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ), the target of an operation that aims to deepen investigations into the diversion of public resources from parliamentary quotas.

The targets of the search and seizure are federal deputies Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ) and Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ).
According to the investigations, political agents, commissioned employees and private individuals would have acted in a coordinated manner to divert and subsequently hide public funds.
PL parliamentarians had their cell phones seized during the operation. A large amount of cash was also seized, including R$400,000 from Sóstenes.
The PF’s action is the result of an operation launched in December 2024 and investigates the crimes of embezzlement, money laundering and criminal organization.
