The American State Department announced that Poland will be the only special guest country for the G20 summit that will take place in Miami in December 2026, under the presidency of Donald Trump.
Poland will be the only country to be a special guest of the US President Donald Trump’s government for the G20 leaders’ summit in Miami, Florida, in December 2026, the State Department announced today.
This week, the United States hosted in Washington a preparatory meeting for the summit of G20 leaders (a group made up of finance ministers and central bank directors from the 19 largest economies in the world plus the African Union and the European Union), scheduled for December 14 and 15, 2026 at Trump National Doral Miami, a tourist complex owned by the North American President in Florida.
“Poland also participated [na reunião preparatória da cimeira] as the only official guest of the year in which the United States is the host country,” the State Department said in a statement.
Although it is not a permanent member of the group that brings together the world’s largest economies, Poland is considered a strategic ally of the United States, mainly due to the increase in its military spending and support for the White House’s positions.
Among the permanent members of the Participating in the meeting in Washington was Russia, the country with which the United States is negotiating to end the war in .
In contrast, South Africa, the host country of the G20 in 2025, was excluded by the United States from the group’s activities, following accusations from Washington that the African country is perpetrating a genocide of the white population, something that the South African Government rejects.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States commits to the G20 returning to its core economic agenda and achieving concrete economic results,” concluded the State Department in the press release.
Specifically, Washington aims to “boost economic prosperity by reducing regulatory burdens, facilitating reliable and affordable energy options, and promoting innovative new technologies.”
The preparatory meeting was attended by Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the African Union and the European Union, in addition to Poland as a guest country.
