Part of a work by Banksy against racism (2020)
The US administration has called on white men who believe they have been victims of discrimination at work to file a complaint with the federal agency founded in the 1960s to combat segregation of African Americans.
Created by the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) now highlights in its site support for those who claim to be victims of positive or “anti-American” discrimination.
Since returning to the presidency in January, Republican Donald Trump and his administration have waged a political battle to dismantle positive discrimination practices, from college campuses to businesses and government.
Often referred to by the acronym DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), these practices, initially implemented to support minorities facing inequality, are in the crosshairs of a political movement that opposes everything it considers woke.
Conservatives use the term woke pejoratively to denounce what they consider to be excessive activism, particularly in favor of minorities.
“You may be entitled to compensation”
“Are you a white man who has suffered discrimination at work because of his sex or race? You may be entitled to compensation“, he stressed Andrea Lucaspresident of the agency, in a video published on Wednesday on the social network X and shared by vice-president JD Vance.
“The EEOC is committed to identifying, combating, and eliminating all forms of discrimination based on race and sex, including against white men, whether job applicants or employees,” added the agency’s president.

JD Vance, a prominent figure in this movement, published an article on Wednesday in X in which a Hollywood screenwriter reports having been denied participation in a project because he is a young white man.
The DEI movement “was a deliberate project of discriminationespecially against white men“, highlighted the vice president of the USA.
“You’re absolutely right”, replied Andrea Lucas in X, denouncing the “widespread, systematic and illegal discrimination that primarily targets white men” and adding that her agency “will not stop until this discrimination is eliminated”.
According to a University of Massachusetts study, the proportion of African-American employees who file complaints with the EEOC is 195 times higher than that of white employees.
In 2020, in the US, the average net worth of white families was about 10 times higher than that of African-American families, according to census data analyzed by the think tank Pew Research Center.
