Exports from Brazil’s beef sector, the largest global exporter, are expected to record new records in volumes and revenues in 2025, surpassing last year’s historic highs with a total turnover of more than US$18 billion, estimated this Friday (19) the Brazilian Association of Meat Packers (Abrafrigo).
Projections indicate that Brazil could experience growth of approximately US$5 billion compared to the total for 2024, which recorded revenue of US$13.135 billion, or around 37%, according to data from Abrafrigo.
The association cited exports to China, the growth of other markets such as Mexico, Russia, the European Union and Chile, in addition to the resumption of greater purchases by the United States, after the end of the removal of tariffs by the Donald Trump government in November.
Shipments for the year are expected to approach 4 million tons, versus 3.19 million in 2024, according to data and projections from Abrafrigo, an association that represents industries in the sector.
In the year to November, according to Abrafrigo, revenue has already reached US$ 16.530 billion (+37.5%) and 3.510 million tons (+19%).
Sales to China grew 48% until November 2025, compared to the first 11 months of the previous year, totaling US$8.029 billion, or around half of everything Brazil exported, with shipments of 1.499 million tons (+23.65%).
The share of fresh beef exports to the Chinese market, in relation to total exports, increased to 54% in the partial until November 2025, compared to a share of 51% in the same period of the previous year.
Average export values for fresh beef to China rose 19.5% this year, rising to US$5,355 per ton (average from January to November 2025).
This increase in average export prices reflects movements in cattle prices in Brazil, which have been rising due to factors such as a change in the livestock cycle, which signals a more restricted supply of the raw material and higher prices next year, said the association.
