Another man was executed in Iran for allegedly spying for Israel

Iran has executed a man convicted of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence service and the Israeli army, state media reported on Saturday. TASR writes about it according to a report by the AFP and AP agencies.

State television identified the executed man as 27-year-old Aghil Keshavarz and said the man “worked closely” with the Mossad and photographed Iran’s military and security areas.

A case of espionage

“The death sentence for Aghil Keshavarz, who was found guilty of spying for the Zionist regime, communicating and collaborating with the regime, and photographing military and security objects, was carried out after confirmation by the Supreme Court and in accordance with legal procedures,” the Iranian justice website Mizan said.

The man was detained back in May when he was photographing the military headquarters in the northwestern city of Urmia, the portal added. He was accused of carrying out more than 200 similar tasks for Mossad in various cities of Iran, including Tehran.

Executions in Iran

According to human rights organizations including Amnesty International, Iran is the country with the second highest number of executions after China.
