B3 registered a record of 75 auctions in 2025, an increase of 20% compared to 2024, according to data provided exclusively to CNN Money.
According to B3, more than R$240 billion in investments were raised. The estimate is that 22 states were impacted and around 1.6 million jobs were created.
Guilherme Peixoto, B3’s Tenders Superintendent, defines this as a “historic moment of aligning incentives for a very qualified group of people who are structuring projects, working on financing, improving governance [e] in regulation”.
Peixoto stated, in an interview with CNN Moneythat B3’s expertise “means that today’s successful auction feeds back into the structuring of new projects” and brings more and more investments and sectors to the auctions.
With 20 competitions, the most important sector was highways. Among the auctions held throughout the year, B3 highlights the renegotiation of Rodovia Fernão Dias (BR-381 between São Paulo and Belo Horizonte), which was the first renegotiation of a contract with effective competition and exchange of share control.
making a commitment to invest R$14.8 billion in the operation to modernize and expand the highway. The winning proposal offered a 17.05% discount on the fare.
It takes over the administration in place of Arteris (controlled by the Spanish company Abertis and the Canadian fund Brookfield), which also participated in the event. EPR was the third competitor.
But in addition to the most common infrastructure sectors, Peixoto highlights the potential of competitions in the areas of education, public safety and sustainability, such as forestry management.
For next year, B3 sees a “strategic period” marked by the expansion of the concessions and PPPs (Public-Private Partnerships) agenda, with emphasis on highways, railways and social infrastructure.
