Brazil will launch its first commercial rocket into space at 9:30 pm this Friday (19). The launch will take place at the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA), in Maranhão (MA). The HANBIT-Nano rocket, from the South Korean company Innospace, marks Brazil’s entry into the global space launch market. The mission, called Operation Spaceward, can be followed live on the internet and involves around 400 professionals, including Brazilians and South Koreans.

The takeoff broadcast will be carried out via the official Innospace channel on the platform .

This is not the first time that the company has tried to launch HANBIT-Nano. Initially it was scheduled to take place at 3:34 pm, however, according to the company, a power problem occurred at the location and a new time was required. On Wednesday (17), it should have been launched at 3:45 pm, however, it was postponed after an anomaly was detected.

If it does not happen this Friday, there is a window open until Monday (22), and the entire situation is observed by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

HANBIT-Nano is 21.8 meters long, 1.4 meters in diameter, and weighs 20 tons, and aims to transport five satellites and three experimental devices to low Earth orbit. In 2023, Innospace launched, also from the Alcântara Launch Center, the first rocket, on an experimental basis.
