A simple request full of meaning moved volunteers and internet users. Little Guadalupe, aged 9, resident of Capixaba, recorded a video for Santa Claus in which, in addition to a toy, she asked for basic foods such as chicken, rice, beans, flour and oil to be able to have Christmas dinner with her family.
The recording was sent to the social project Conexão do Bem, which works to support families in situations of social vulnerability. In the video, the child explains that, with food, he could celebrate the date with his family.

In an interview with ContilNet Notícias, the project’s creator, Michele Oliveira, reported that Guadalupe has two other sisters and that, despite the family receiving aid from the federal government, they face precarious conditions. According to her, on the volunteers’ first visit to the residence, the child didn’t even know what an “ice cream” was.
“We are organizing ourselves so that she and her family have a happy Christmas. These are situations that touch us deeply and show how small gestures make a big difference”, said Michele.
