Prevention and health protection must be thought of constantly. The basis for the prevention of type A jaundice is hand washing. The Public Health Office (ÚVZ) of the Slovak Republic pointed this out on the social network. “Wash your hands with warm water and soap, especially before eating and after using the toilet,” the experts emphasized. They warn that jaundice can spread even without symptoms, and the incubation period can be up to 50 days. “Even if you don’t feel sick, you can spread the virus during the incubation period of type A jaundice,” the office clarified. He also recommends following the instructions of epidemiologists and doctors.
Hepatitis A is a contagious disease, in humans it causes viral inflammation of the liver. The virus is most often transmitted by direct contact. The disease begins with flu-like symptoms and gastrointestinal symptoms associated with abdominal pain, joint pain, general malaise, fever, and dark urine. In a few days, most patients will develop jaundice.
