Renting it for the recording of the film Dark Horse, about the former president, generated revolt among the cultural equipment’s staff.

The museum is linked to the government, which also rented the museum.

The Favela Museum is the setting where the stabbing scene suffered by the then candidate was filmed. The report obtained a frame from the video that shows American actor Jim Caviezel being carried by a crowd, in front of the historic museum building, in the center of .

The space was rented on the 3rd and 4th of December, between 6am and 12pm, upon payment of R$57,000, according to the current price list. Film crews used entrance staircases, foyer, hall, meeting room and outdoor spaces.

O Metropolises found that the rent generated revolt among some of the employees who work there, who consider that Bolsonaro is not suitable for a space focused on peripheral culture, which suffered from several of his government’s policies, including the management of the pandemic. The space rented for the film was the same one that showed, this year, an exhibition about the rap group Racionais MC’s, the main national hip hop band, whose members are critical of the former president.
