Favorite comedian Fero Joke, whose real name is František Košarišťan, faces a huge onslaught from all sides. A video appeared on the social network in which two young men declared that the comedian should have sexually harassed them after the Prague talk show Dobre bude. In the nearly 10-minute recording, they describe their disappointment, feelings and the whole situation.
A few hours later, a comedian commented on the whole unpleasant situation on the social network. “I made a mistake. I often criticize others for mistakes, draw attention to them and parody them. Therefore, I realize that you have increased demands on my own actions and feel disappointment. I wasn’t careful with alcohol that night. After people left the establishment, I drank more than was healthy among my friends, and that affected my assessment of the situation,” he said. You can read his entire statement !
A number of famous faces and politicians commented on the case within a few days, and the comedian also lost cooperation with a well-known chain. Košarišťany himself also decided to withdraw from one television project.
Over time, a Slovak actress, singer and politician also responded to the whole matter Dorota Nvotová (43). “Who hasn’t kicked Fer yet? Me. And I won’t. Like almost every woman, I’ve been a victim of stalking. In pubs and at work. It happens every day. To everyone. It’s trivialized. However, unlike Fero, there is no apology, no self-reflection – quite the opposite. We are accused of a kind of extreme feminism. Or we’re just bitter and out of touch. Or anything else. In short, it’s our fault,” she began her long status.
“And then along comes the gay man who drank more than he should have and put his hands where he shouldn’t have. He accepted responsibility with deep sincerity. Unlike the thousands of drunken guys who have been putting pussies on our women’s bodies for years. So let’s kick him. To a person who has done more for civil society than all the kickers put together. To a person who literally lives by helping and charity. To a person who does not own his success, but gives it back to society. To the person who holds up a mirror to all of us,” added the daughter of actress Anna Šišková.
Nvotová thinks that his alter ego Maja sometimes mirrors many of us and we see in her our collective consciousness, our slovenliness, our scrupulousness, our pettiness. “It was Maja who committed the assault under the influence of alcohol. It doesn’t absolve Fer of responsibility, but it does offer a different insight. Fero was in the role of Maje, clowning around – and it turned against him. Why? The Internet is full of nude photos of both boys. And although, of course, everyone has the right to sell their nudity for any amount, the question arises as to what else they are willing to sell for money. What about testimony, for example?’ she thought.
“Friends, if this was an intelligence operation, it wouldn’t look any different. A successful comedian who systematically, aptly and virally criticizes the ruling coalition will become a target. So will many of us. Instead of reporting the incident to the police, a captioned professional video floods our little world. Culture wars in practice – as always – again misused for political purposes. And the case is open. Discrediting a good man who made a mistake in the most progressive bubble. Done. Think before you kick. We live in an age of hybrid warfare. And the weapons have displays,” concluded Nvotová.
