During Christmas dinner, fish is one of the key dishes. This year, however, it is worth looking at its preparation a bit differently, choosing a modern and convenient method. Thanks to this, we can change Christmas Eve cooking, making preparing the dish easier and faster. Check out how to easily make the perfect fish for the holidays.
Preparing fish in an airfryer is a perfect idea for this year’s holidays. This is a method that can completely change the way we prepare Christmas Eve dishes. This solution has many advantages because it:
- We consume less fat – by baking fish in an airfryer, we use much less oil or olive oil than when frying it traditionally in a pan. Thanks to this, the fish will not become saturated with fat.
- The fish retains its nutritional value– shortened preparation time in a fat-free fryer makes the dish richer in vitamins and minerals.
- We provide less calories to the body and we do not feel heavy – the lack of large amounts of fat will make the dish lower in calories, and we will not feel heavy after Christmas dinner.
In addition, a big advantage of baking fish in an air fryer is the speed of preparation. The dish practically makes itself and does not require constant supervision, unlike the traditional one . Thanks to this, we can prepare other dishes while baking, and the fish can be prepared even at the last minute, just before the arrival of loved ones.

Preparing fish in an air fryer will not be difficult and will take only a moment. It is worth using cod or pollock for a Christmas Eve dish. Halibut and salmon will also work well. According to the recipe, we will need:
- 4 fillets of your choice,
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of flour,
- 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs,
- 1 teaspoon of ground sweet pepper
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- half a teaspoon of ground lemon pepper,
- olive oil or oil in a spray bottle,
- lemon,
- salt and pepper.
The first step is to wash and dry the fish thoroughly. Then season it with salt and pepper. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, sweet pepper, oregano and lemon pepper. The next step is to sprinkle the fish with flour and dip it in the beaten egg.
Coat the prepared fillet in breadcrumbs with spices and lightly spray both sides with olive oil. Place in the airfryer, cover the fish with lemon slices and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 11 minutes. It is worth turning the fillets carefully halfway through this time so that they can bake evenly.
