Ukraine will support proposal for trilateral discussions if it produces results

KYIV, Dec 20 (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that Ukraine would support a U.S. proposal for tripartite talks with the United States and Russia if that would facilitate more prisoner exchanges and pave the way for meetings of national leaders.

‘The United States is now proposing a trilateral meeting with national security advisers – the United States, Ukraine and Russia,’ Zelensky told local journalists in Kiev.

‘If this meeting can be held now to allow for the exchange of prisoners of war or an agreement on a tripartite meeting of leaders, we will support these proposals. Let’s see how things play out.’
