The captain Daniel de Oliveira Faria was exonerated from Military Police (PM) this Thursday (18) following a decision by the Court of Justice of the State of Goiás (TJ-GO). He became known for having lent his own gun to his girlfriend, who used the weapon to kill a friend, in a crime that occurred in Aparecida de Goiânia (GO).
The delivery of the weapon was recorded by a security camera. The case took place in 2020 and had wide repercussions after the release of the images, which showed the moment in which the then police officer passes the firearm before the homicide.
The conduct initiated administrative and judicial proceedings, which resulted in the definitive loss of his position.
In an official note, the PM informed that the agent’s exclusion was determined after the conclusion of a Justification Council. The procedure was initiated by the corporation itself to investigate the soldier’s conduct and assess the compatibility of his remaining within the institution’s staff.
The decision was published in the Official Gazette of the State of Goiás. The document states that Daniel does not have “minimum conditions to remain as a military police officer”.
Remember the case
The case took place on November 8, 2020, on Rua Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, in Sítio Santa Luzia. Nayara Lopes Palmeira dos Santos, the soldier’s girlfriend, goes to her partner and asks to borrow the gun.
Then, she goes to the call girl Ketlen Lorrane Carvalho, 21, and shoots, hitting the young woman in the forehead. She did not survive her injuries.
At the time, delegate Rogério Bicalho stated that the women lived together for three years, but had not shared a residence for about a month. The crime would have been committed after Nayara collected a debt from Ketlen.
“The two were call girls and had a fight because the victim, apparently, did not want to pay a debt for expenses from when they lived together,” said the delegate.
