Good morning. We begin the narrative of election day in Extremadura, a first milestone in what is anticipated as a chain of elections—Aragon in February, Andalusia in spring—that will lead to the general elections. Nearly 900,000 Extremadurans are called to an election in which the PP starts as a favorite, with the expectation of whether María Guardiola will be able to renew the mandate with an absolute majority or will have to depend again on an alliance with Vox. The PSOE is experiencing low times, with its candidate, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, charged by justice for the case of the allegedly irregular hiring of the brother of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, by the Badajoz council.
The polls are being established from 8:00 a.m. and voting will start at 9:00 a.m., until 8:00 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. there will be a press conference to report the provisional results.
