André Ventura reaffirms that he never voted for José Sócrates. The controversy arose yesterday in the debate with Cotrim de Figueiredo, when the candidate supported by the Liberal Initiative stated that the President of Chega had admitted to having voted for the former prime minister. This Saturday an audio was revealed in which it is possible to hear Ventura saying that he was deceived by José Sócrates.
In this debate, João Cotrim de Figueiredo brought an asset to play against André Ventura. The book is called Days of Anger and was published by journalist Alexandre Malhado last year.
Contains several quotes from a long interview with André Ventura that prove the attraction that the leader of Chega had for the performance of the former prime minister. One of these quotes has now been revealed in audio by the magazine .
The guarantee given in this debate not only clashes with the 2024 interview, it also clashes with the 2017 campaign. Ventura was running for president of the Chamber of Loures when he admitted for the first time that he had voted for Sócrates.
But there is at least one more record of the fascination that Sócrates provoked in André Ventura. In a 2015 book, André Ventura assumes that if left convinced by Socrates and admits that he was influenced by the movement created by the former PS leader’s first candidacy for prime minister.
If in the past he was an inspiration, Socrates is now an target that yields votes for Ventura.
