Letters to the President

I also hope that whoever leads our country knows how to truly understand its citizens and act firmly at the right time, avoiding vague answers or promises that remain unfulfilled.

Dear President of the Republic,

Allow me to share some reflections and expectations that I consider essential for the good direction of our country.

I hope that you take on the responsibility of representing all Portuguese people, be deeply human and attentive to the most basic needs of the population.

It is urgent that positive and immediate measures be taken to solve problems that affect the daily lives of so many people, such as access to more affordable housing, rapid medical care and efficient services for children and the elderly.

These areas constitute unavoidable priorities, as does the simplification of the bureaucracy that so often hinders progress.

It is also essential to reinforce the proper functioning of nurseries, schools, homes, hospitals and courts, guaranteeing real and visible rights for the large working population.

Motivated and happy people work better and contribute to a more productive and valued country.

I also hope that whoever leads our country knows how to truly understand its citizens and act firmly at the right time, avoiding vague answers or promises that remain unfulfilled.

Trust is built with concrete actions, not empty speeches.

I wish that whoever represents us admires, respects and trusts their people, feeling proud of the decisions they make on behalf of the country. That, in addition to leading with dedication, also knows how to honor Portugal abroad and honor our identity throughout the world.

I am grateful for the opportunity to express these desires and feelings, which are born from the deep affection I have for my country and the way I want it to be led.

I bid you farewell with best regards.

Maria Carvalho Ferreirinha is 64 years old and is a housekeeper. He accepted the challenge of writing a letter to the President of the Republic, whoever he may be.
