Lula and Orsi celebrate the prospect of works on the 2nd bridge over the Jaguarão River

The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the President of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, celebrated this Saturday, the 20th, the prospect of beginning, at the beginning of 2026, the construction works of the second bridge over the Jaguarão River, connecting Brazil and Uruguay.

“They also expressed the expectation that, in the coming days, a tender will be published for the contracting of dredging services on the Uruguay-Brazil waterway, which was delayed due to the floods that occurred in Rio Grande do Sul in 2024,” said Planalto, in a statement.

The meeting between the two took place on the sidelines of the 67th Mercosul Summit, in Foz do Iguaçu.
