In this recipe, we use traditional ingredients for Christmas gingerbread, but replace store-bought ones with specific spices. Thanks to them, the cookies taste amazing and their scent is incredibly intense.

What ingredients do we need to make Christmas gingerbread? Here is the exact list:

  • 350 g of wheat flour;
  • 150 g melasy;
  • 120 g of butter;
  • 120 g of cane sugar;
  • 1 egg;
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon;
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda;
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger;
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract;
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves;
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt;
  • a pinch of nutmeg.

1. For starters mix dry ingredients in a bowli.e. wheat flour, cinnamon, baking soda, ginger, cardamom, ground cloves, salt, nutmeg.

2. Cream the butter with cane sugar so that a fluffy mass is created.

3. To the powder add wet ingredients firsti.e. molasses, vanilla extract, egg and mix everything. Then gradually add the dry ingredients and mix to obtain a uniform mass.

4. Wrap the finished dough in foil and put in the fridge for at least an hour.

5. Roll out the dough into a 0.5 cm thick cake. Cut out Christmas gingerbreads using cookie cutters.

6. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.

To freeze Christmas gingerbread cookies, just wait until they cool down and then freeze them place them in an airtight container for storing and freezing food.
