The impeached federal deputy (PL-SP) said this Saturday (Dec 20, 2025) that the president of the Chamber, (Republicanos-PB) is threatened by the minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes.
Asked about the decision of the Board of Directors of Eduardo said that Motta “he changed his opinion about a lot of things, including amnesty”. He stated that he regretted the measure and said that the president of Casa Baixa advocated against the interests of all the voters who elected him.
“Hugo Motta is being threatened by Moraes. Motta changed his opinion on a lot of things, including amnesty after the PF, at the behest of Moraes, carried out an operation against his father’s city hall. So, in this way, Hugo Motta did not allow me to be leader of the minority. As leader of the minority no need to be present in the Chamber”said Eduardo in an interview with SBT News.
Eduardo had his mandate revoked by the Chamber on Thursday (Dec 18) for exceeding the allowed limit of absences. The son of the former president (PL) has been in the US since February.
According to article 55 of the Federal Constitution, a deputy may lose his mandate if he misses ⅓ or more of the ordinary sessions in the legislative year, except for authorized leaves or missions.
Asked why he had not presented a defense, Eduardo said that there was no effort from the Chamber to contact him. “Do you think it will be of any use for me to defend myself? Or will it just legitimize this process?”he declared.
