SHMÚ predicts a change in the weather: What will Christmas be like in Slovakia?

  • The inverse nature of the weather should end during Christmas.
  • SHMÚ predicts a cloudy to overcast Christmas Day with precipitation.
  • Clear to sunny skies are expected on Boxing Day.

The inverse nature of the weather should end during the approaching Christmas. Christmas Day should be cloudy to overcast, in some places you should also prepare for precipitation. Especially on Boxing Day, however, clear skies should prevail. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) reported about it on the social network.

“Especially on Boxing Day, sunny weather could prevail for the most part, precipitation will be minimal and the maximum daily temperature will be at minus two to five degrees Celsius. On the morning of Boxing Day, we expect that it should also be mostly freezing in the lowlands.” SHMÚ meteorologist Štefan Dlhoš said in the video. As he added, there is still uncertainty in the forecast. He added that the inversion, causing foggy weather, has been going on for three weeks.
