What will the weather be like at Christmas? Cold arrives on the 24th and is here to stay

Prepare blankets and warm clothing. Climatologist Mário Marques assured, in an interview with SIC Notícias, that Christmas week will be marked by very cold weather.

The first day of winter in several regions of the north of the country after, during the night, the first big snowfall of the season fell. Snow is expected to continue to fall over the next few days, in the North and Center, with minimum temperatures dropping (even further) from the 24th.

The forecast of points to snowfall until at least Tuesday.

The rain will not let up for now, with more frequent and intense periods on the North and Central coast, on the 22nd and 23rd. The wind will also continue to be felt.

From the 24th, the minimum temperatures will drop. In an interview with SIC Notícias, climatologist Mário Marques states that “the cold will set in from the 24th and at least until next weekend”.

On Christmas Day, thermometers should even reach negative temperatures. In Bragança and Guarda they are expected minimum temperatures of -2ºC and -1ºCresetivamente.
